Verona and The Great Outdoors
Wisconsin welcomes all four seasons with many opportunities for exploring the outdoors! The same rings true in Verona, a haven for the outdoor adventurer and the nature lover. Whether you’re lacing up your hiking boots and hitting the trails, taking a bike ride, enjoying a round of golf, or hitting the water on a sunny day, the Verona outdoors has something for you.
With multi-use trails at area parks, there are opportunities to hike, go bird watching, and bike. Ice Age National Scenic Trail and Prairie Moraine County Park are two parks that make for the perfect day of hiking or try visiting the 10 Town of Verona Natural Areas. Cyclists will find paved and unpaved trails around the area for a nice ride through beautiful scenery. And don’t worry winter lovers, there are trails and parks for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and downhill skiing when the snow falls.
Outdoor recreation on the water is another popular pastime on waterways around Verona. From tubing, swimming, and kayaking to boating and fishing, there are endless ways to take advantage of Verona’s location on the Sugar River and nearby lakes. The warmer weather also brings out golfers, and Verona has excellent golf courses close at hand for those who want to hit the links.
